This is our Dyson V8 Absolute Cordless Vacuum Reviews
When talking about buying a cordless vacuum, this bad boy does raise some eyebrows for the important question.
Is Dyson V8 vacuum cleaner really worth the price tag?
Let’s find out!
The Dyson V8 Absolute Cordless Vacuum Overview
At a glance, the Dyson V8 Absolute has a similar look to its predecessor — the Dyson V6 Absolute.
The notable changes to this brand new Dyson V8 Absolute would be its battery that now lasts up to 40 minutes of fade-free suction.
Although that does not sound like a lot of battery life, it should be long enough for you to cover the whole house before returning it to the wall-mounted charging dock.
The Dyson V8 Absolute vacuum has also toned down the noise it makes (Dyson claims a 50 percent reduction).
There is also a new hygienic dirt ejector on the Dyson V8 Absolute vacuum that lets you lift up the cyclones while ejecting the dust and dirt.
Let’s have a look at the pros and cons we found on the Dyson V8 Absolute.
The Good Part About Dyson V8 Absolute Cordless Vacuum
Here are what we really love about the Dyson V8 Absolute.
Coming at the weight of only 5.7 pounds, the Dyson V8 Absolute cordless vacuum is very easy to maneuver. The well-balanced design has placed the weight at the handles, making cleaning places like stairs, small corners, ceiling and walls much easier.
Although you no longer have to worry whether the Dyson V8 vacuum could cover the whole house, the battery now comes with indicators on both sides that will show you how much juice you have left until next charging.
The 115 air watts of suction power (at max power mode) in the Dyson V8 Absolute, is a significant upgrade from the V6 while the noise it makes has been reduced. You can actually hold a conversation during your house cleaning chores without having to shout at anyone.
HEPA filtration for the whole system helps to capture allergens while expelling cleaner air. Currently one of the important feature for us as someone who easily gets allergies.
The Dyson V8 Absolute’s new hygienic dirt ejector is much effective and less messy. With a simple pull of the lever, the dirt gets ejected out from the bottom of the dirt collection bin while at the same time lifting up the cyclones. You will then push down the cyclones again to close the door off its collection bin while the mechanism also scrapes off the dust on the cyclones.
The run-time enhancing trigger can be quite addictive. With such powerful suction and the lightweight body, we found ourselves not being able to stop cleaning until the battery actually runs out.
The Bad Part About Dyson V8 Absolute Cordless Vacuum
The part we didn’t really like about the Dyson V8 Absolute.
As we have mentioned above, the Dyson V8 Absolute is a pricey cleaning gear. It costs more than half a thousand.
While its battery life has been significantly improved, it also requires a longer time to fully charge (5 hours).
If you buy the Dyson V8 Absolute, it comes with soft roller cleaner head, direct drive cleaner head, mini motorized tool, crevice tool and the mini soft dusting brush. Not having anything to clip the crevice tool when cleaning with the wand and the extra heads means that you would end up having to shove the accessories in your back pocket.
Our Verdict on Dyson V8 Absolute Cordless Vacuum
Is Dyson V8 Absolute Vacuum a recommended good buy?
The Dyson V8 Absolute is currently the most flexible and powerful cordless vacuum we have seen.
With its longer battery life and powerful suction, Dyson has clearly raised the bar for other cordless vacuums in the market.
The only concern for Dyson V8 Absolute was how long will the batteries lasts. It is just like the smartphones, the battery capacity will eventually fade.
Is paying more than half a thousand a good buy for the Dyson V8 Absolute?
We think that being a cordless vacuum, the Dyson V8 Absolute is fully capable of replacing a corded model for even the messiest jobs with the added benefits of a hand vacuum built in.
And you are actually paying for more than just the Dyson brand with the V8 Absolute as no other brands have come close to its flexibility and features.
The Dyson V8 Absolute Cordless Vacuum Features
RECAP: Some of the Dyson V8 Absolute features worth considering
Dyson Digital Motor V8
The Dyson Digital Motor V8 uses digital pulse technology and neodymium magnets to spin at more than 110,000 times a minute.
The motor itself is small in size, and this means that the machines it powers can also be small, light and powerful.
Two Tier Radial Cyclones
The Dyson 2 Tier Radial Cyclones is a patented cyclone technology.
It is this powerful centrifugal forces that spin the dust and dirt out of the air and captures in the collection bin.
In the Dyson V8 Absolute, 15 cyclones are arranged across two tiers radially and work in parallel to increase its airflow.
In other regular bagless vacuum cleaners, dust sometimes passes through the filter and clogging it up. That in turns would cause the suction loss.
Direct Drive Cleaner Head
Dyson V8 Absolute cordless vacuum has 150% more brush bar power than the V6.
A powerful direct-drive motor pushes the brush bar deep into the carpet to remove ground-in dirt.
The stiff nylon bristles remove ground-in dirt from carpets while the carbon fiber filaments remove fine dust from hard floors.
Whole Machine HEPA Filtration System
The Whole machine HEPA filtration can capture up to 99.97% of particles — including allergens and bacteria as small as 0.3 microns.
Because the entire Dyson V8 Absolute cordless vacuum system is engineered to be sealed, the air that leaves the machine is cleaner than the air you breathe.
New Hygienic Dirt Ejector Bin
With just a pull of the lever, dirt gets ejected out from the bottom of the bin while lifting up the cyclones.
When you push down the cyclones to close the bin door the mechanism also scrapes off the dust on the cyclones.
Balanced for floor to ceiling cleaning
Using Archimedes’ principle of the Lever, Dyson V8 Absolute’s weight is distributed differently.
The motor and batteries are located directly above and below the hand, making the cleaning end lighter.
